From the first turns of the wheel, everyone has fun. You feel the thrill of fantastic acceleration just above the sand, a cross between a small sailboat and a go-kart, with unique gliding sensations a few centimetres from the ground.
You will soon be able to master your « sand sailboat » and take in legendary places in Normandy: the beaches of Deauville and Trouville, the bay of Mont-Saint-Michel, Utah Beach.

How it works
Picking up speed
Comfortably seated in the hull, rope in hand, turn your back to the wind to feel its pressure on the sail. The first few metres can feel unsettling, but you will quickly learn to steer your sail with the wind and pick up speed!

In Normandy, you can learn sand yachting on the long sandy beaches of Calvados, the seaside resorts of Cabourg, Deauville and Trouville-sur-Mer, or on the D-Day beaches and in the bay of Mont-Saint-Michel.
After a short lesson led by our qualified instructors, you will quickly feel unforgettable sensations. Thrills, speed and adrenaline guaranteed.

A sport thousands of years old
The sand sailboat, a story spanning several millennia
Did you know that the Egyptians already used a similar mode of transport? The « sand sailboat » goes back several thousand years. Egyptians, Romans and Chinese already used the wind to propel vehicles over land.
The wind does not simply push the sail. It flows on both sides, pushing on one and pulling on the other. The suction is twice as strong as the pressure, which is why the sail’s angle to the wind matters so much.
Open to everyone, sand yachting means choosing a sporty and eco-friendly activity for your corporate seminar or team building.
