Your events partner
A specialist in large corporate formats in Normandy
Are you preparing a congress or convention in Normandy and looking for a partner to handle the complete organisation? Normandy DMC designs and coordinates your large corporate formats, from 100 to more than 1,000 participants, from selecting the congress centre to the gala evening. Unlike an online room comparison site, we are a local events agency that manages your entire event: a single point of contact, a single quotation, complete management of logistics, and more than 20 years of experience in Normandy business tourism.

Our role
Entrust the organisation of your congress or convention to a local agency
Organising a congress in Normandy involves a large number of contributors over several days: congress centre, accommodation for hundreds of participants, catering, parallel plenaries and workshops, technical production, transfers, gala evening, reception and signage. Coordinating these suppliers from your head office is a high operational risk. Our role is to take on that coordination for you.
What we coordinate
- Selection and booking of the congress centre or conference venue suited to your numbers
- Management of accommodation for all participants across several establishments
- Coordination of technical production (sound, lighting, video, simultaneous interpretation)
- Organisation of the highlights: plenaries, workshops, gala evening, activities
- Reception, signage, transfers and day-of coordination by a dedicated project manager

Framing your event well
Congress, convention, symposium: which format for your event?
These three terms describe similar but distinct formats. Understanding the difference helps frame your project.
Congress
A congress brings together members of the same profession, federation or learned society around a scientific or professional programme, often over several days, with plenary sessions and parallel workshops.
Convention
A convention brings together employees of the same company or network, with the aim of mobilisation, information and cohesion. It mixes working time, management speeches and unifying moments.
Symposium & AGM
The symposium and the general meeting are shorter, more formal formats focused on discussion and decisions.
In every case, Normandy offers a setting less than two hours from Paris and facilities able to host large numbers. For a smaller format centred on leadership, see our page dedicated to executive seminars, CoDir, Comex and Comag. For a classic residential event, see our seminar organisation in Normandy page.
Our commitments
Turnkey service, a single quote
Three commitments structure our work on every congress.
A turnkey congress

A single quote
Our proposal brings all services together on a single quotation, clear for your management and your finance director. One purchase order, one final invoice, even for an event involving twenty providers.
Complete logistics management
A dedicated project manager runs the operation end to end: bookings, technical production, accommodation, catering, transfers, reception, handling the unexpected. Full logistics management remains our contractual responsibility.

Frequently asked questions
FAQ: organising congresses and conventions in Normandy
What is the difference between a congress, a convention and a seminar?
A congress brings together the members of a profession or a learned society around a programme, often over several days. A convention gathers the employees of a single company with a goal of mobilisation and cohesion. A seminar more broadly means a company working meeting, usually of a smaller format. We organise all three formats in Normandy.
How do you organise a congress in Normandy?
Organising a congress follows four steps: the brief (objectives, numbers, programme, budget), the shortlisting of a destination and congress centre within 24 to 48 hours, contracting via a single quote, then day-of coordination by a dedicated project manager. We take care of everything, from technical production to the gala evening.
How many participants can a congress in Normandy hold?
Normandy’s facilities host from 150 to several thousand participants. The Deauville International Centre, the Caen congress centre and Zénith, the Rouen exhibition centre or the Cherbourg Maritime Terminal make large-scale congresses possible. We size the destination to your numbers.
What are the obligations of a congress organiser?
A professional organiser bears contractual responsibility for the event: contracting suppliers, public liability insurance, GDPR compliance, and compliance with safety rules for venues open to the public. By entrusting your congress to Normandy DMC, you are relieved of direct coordination and of managing these obligations with each supplier.
Which city should we choose for a congress in Normandy?
Deauville and its International Centre for single-venue convenience and premium image, Caen for capacity and the remembrance dimension, Rouen for accessibility and the exhibition centre, Le Havre for industrial conventions, Cherbourg for a unique heritage setting in the Cotentin. The choice depends on your numbers, accessibility and highlights.
