Introduction

Organising an incentive in Normandy

Are you preparing an incentive in Normandy to reward your best salespeople, thank your clients or re-motivate your network? An incentive is not a working seminar: it is a moment your participants must remember. Normandy DMC has designed and run incentive seminars in Normandy for more than 20 years, based on experiences we created and tested in the field ourselves. A single point of contact, a single quotation, complete management of logistics.

The goal

Reward, motivate, retain: what an incentive is for

The incentive is a motivation lever, not a meeting. It is aimed at those whose performance you want to recognise or whose commitment you want to strengthen:

  • Your sales forces: reward the best salespeople of the year, launch a challenge and celebrate its winners.
  • Your clients and distributors: retain a network, thank key partners, create a bond outside the transactional setting.
  • Your teams: re-energise after an intense period, mark a collective success, bond after a merger.
  • Your talents: retain and value the profiles you do not want to see leave.

In every case, the measure of success is the same: what your participants will still be talking about in six months. That is why a successful incentive depends less on the programme than on the quality of the experiences lived, and on details that only a team based in the region can secure.

The distinction

Incentive, seminar, team building: which format for which goal?

These three formats are often confused. Their goal, however, is different, and it drives everything else in the organisation.

  • The incentive rewards and motivates. There is no compulsory plenary and no agenda: the programme is made of experiences. It is aimed at your teams as well as your clients or distributors.
  • The seminar brings people together to work. It assumes rooms, accommodation and a programme of sessions. See our page dedicated to seminar organisation in Normandy.
  • Team building bonds a team around a cohesion activity, over a half-day or a day. See our page dedicated to team building in Normandy.

These formats combine: many of our clients organise a working seminar whose second day is an incentive, or an incentive punctuated by a team building activity. We build the balance with you at the brief.

In the field

The experiences we run in Normandy

Here is what our clients actually experience during their incentives in Normandy. These experiences are not a theoretical catalogue: we created, tested and ran them, and the photos illustrating them come from our own events.

Thrills and fresh air

  • Learn sand yachting on the beaches of Trouville-sur-Mer, Honfleur and Villers-sur-Mer, facing the wind.
  • Experience your first sulky ride on the sand or at a stud farm in the Pays d’Auge, at the reins of a racehorse.
  • Gain altitude in a hot-air balloon or helicopter above the Côte Fleurie.
  • Discover the surroundings of Caen by electric scooter or by bike, as far as Villers-sur-Mer.
  • Organise a regatta aboard sailing boats in Deauville or Le Havre.
  • Head out to sea by jet ski off the beaches of Deauville or Cabourg.
  • Set off early with a sports coach for a gentle wake-up on the beach at Cabourg.

Terroir and Norman gastronomy

  • Have a chic picnic lunch on the beach at Étretat, at the foot of the cliffs.
  • Share a country lunch under the apple trees of the Pays d’Auge.
  • Taste seafood at the Trouville fish market or aboard an old sailing ship in Honfleur.
  • Dine after a private cooking contest.
  • Taste Normandy PDO cheeses, make your own butter, and why not milk a cow.

Norman heritage, discovered differently

  • Cruise the Côte Fleurie in an E-Solex, a convertible Beetle or a VW Combi.
  • Set off on a 2CV rally to discover the Pays d’Auge and its manor houses.
  • Solve the puzzles of a murder party, an escape game or a treasure hunt in the streets of Rouen.
  • Take part in Olympics in Rouen or on the beach at Deauville.

The D-Day beaches, with added emotion

Discover the D-Day beaches in vintage military vehicles, departing from Caen, with a historian guide. It is the experience that leaves the most lasting mark on groups, particularly international participants. We also offer D-Day Games, a team-cohesion activity in its own right that we organise in Deauville, Trouville-sur-Mer or Cabourg.

Evenings and exceptional moments

  • Dine in a privatised villa for your gala evening.
  • Spend an evening at the casino in Deauville or Trouville-sur-Mer.
  • Be invited to a cocktail at the Trouville-sur-Mer lighthouse or a lunch cocktail on a pontoon.
  • Enjoy the hotel spa and unwind in a cocooning venue.
  • Bring your teams together around a cocktail workshop or a wine-tasting workshop led by a sommelier.

The hybrid format

The incentive seminar: when motivation meets work

The incentive seminar is the format most requested by our clients: a seminar whose dominant goal is not to produce work, but to reward and re-energise. In practice, the working day is reduced to the essentials (a morning session, a speech from management) and the rest of the programme is made of experiences and shared moments.

It is the ideal format for a range launch coupled with a reward for the best salespeople, for an annual kick-off, or for a network convention. We calibrate the balance between working time and experience time from the brief: it is the first question we ask.

Our expertise

Our knowledge of the terrain makes the difference

An incentive comes down to details that no catalogue gives you: the right tide slot for sand yachting, the skipper who knows how to host a group, the villa whose owner will accept a privatisation on a Saturday in September, the fallback plan when the weather turns. As we have always written: to claim to be an expert in a region, you have to live there, know its inhabitants, share their daily lives and constantly discover new destinations, new suppliers or create new entertainment. Our team is based in Saint-Arnoult, ten minutes from Deauville, and works in Normandy all year round.

Our commitments

Turnkey service, a single quote

An incentive is judged on the effect it produces. Our organisation is built so that nothing spoils it.

01

A turnkey incentive

Design of the experience programme, booking and privatisation of venues, coordination of suppliers and hosts, accommodation, catering, transfers, evening: we frame and contract everything. You keep control of the surprise effect for your participants; we carry the logistics.

02

A single quote

An incentive often mobilises a dozen different suppliers. Our proposal brings them together in a single quote: one purchase order, one invoice, one contact to chase.

03

Complete logistics management

A dedicated project manager is on site from the first day to the last. They handle the unexpected (weather, delay, change in numbers) without your participants noticing. Full logistics management remains our contractual responsibility.

Client cases

Incentives we have actually organised

Three examples among the events of recent years:

  • An incentive stay in Deauville and Trouville built around Olympics on the beach.
  • An incentive for 300 participants from India on the Côte Fleurie, with the cultural and dietary constraints of hosting an international group of that size.
  • An incentive seminar in Cherbourg for 19 people, in the Cotentin.

Frequently asked questions

FAQ: Incentive in Normandy

What is a corporate incentive?+

An incentive is a motivation and reward event. Unlike the seminar, which brings people together to work, the incentive aims to leave a mark: reward the best salespeople, retain clients or distributors, re-energise a team. The programme is made of experiences and shared moments, not working sessions.

What is the difference between an incentive and a team building?+

Team building serves the internal cohesion of a team around an activity, often over a half-day or a day. The incentive aims at motivation and reward, generally lasts one to three days, and can target external audiences (clients, distributors, network) as much as your employees. The two combine very well.

What is an incentive seminar?+

It is the most requested hybrid format: a seminar whose dominant goal is motivation. The working day is reduced to the essentials (one session, a speech from management) and the rest of the programme is made of experiences. Ideal for an annual kick-off, a range launch or a network convention.

What incentive activities do you offer in Normandy?+

Sand yachting in Deauville and Trouville-sur-Mer, sulky introduction, regatta in Le Havre, hot-air balloon, buggy, 2CV or Beetle rally in the Pays d’Auge, chic picnic in Étretat, seafood aboard an old sailing ship in Honfleur, olympics in Rouen or on Deauville beach, murder party, treasure hunt, tour of the D-Day beaches in military vehicles, cocktail workshop, gala dinner in a privatised villa. The full catalogue is in our 2026 activities brochure.

Can an incentive be organised for an international group in Normandy?+

Yes, it is even one of our favourite fields: we have organised incentives for groups of several hundred participants from abroad. The D-Day beaches, heritage and Norman gastronomy are strong assets with international audiences. Our team and dedicated site (normandydmc-en.com) support English-speaking groups.
